It’s been a long time, I shouldn’t have left you.

There’s been a lot going on lately. In the past weeks which I have been absent from this here blog I have done many many things. I have been to a halloween party, two exhibitions and partied the weekend away in the city. Let’s start at the beginning.

I went to a halloween party at my friend Lynne’s house, she’s from Chicago. I posted about Halloween last time and said I would show you a photo of my Lisa Left Eye Lopes costume. Here it is:

It was a success, however, in the process of what I think was everyone trying to be original with their costumes, there ended up being four Left Eyes. FOUR! You’d think there’d be a lot of Michael Jackson’s, Amy Winehouses, but nope, Left Eye it was. Luckily amongst the four Left Eye’s, there was one from each TLC era, so that was a plus! More

Song of the Month!

Hey guys, so the song I have chosen to share with all of you this month is…..

Valerie by Mark Ronson and Amy Winehouse.

Both musical geniuses of our time. Everything Mark Ronson touches turns to gold and Amy Winehouse, was one of the most original and incredible singers/songwriters of contemporary society. So pay homage and respect to these two by listening to this amazing song.

Oh and the official video, you can’t put it into posts so enjoy the pictures of Winehouse.

Song of the Month

This time we’re going for something a little different.

I enjoy most types of music, except country. Sorry fans of country, I just can’t do it.

So this month the song of the month is……

Toto- Africa

This song is a classic, an awesome song that has been sampled in more than 10 contemporary songs by artists such as JoJo, Nas, Xzibit, and Ja Rule.

So here’s the original, the one and only, Africa by Toto.

Song of the Month

And the song of the month/week is…….

Make Some Noise- Beastie Boys

Yes I do realise that rhymes.

I am a long time fan of the Beastie Boys and their latest album is no exception. Do not dismiss it because it’s new stuff. Not only is it a great song with a great beat but in true Beastie Boys style, the video clip is hilarious! Ch ch ch check it out…(Beastie Boys humour)

Song of the Week (which is late)

Sorry for the delay in song of the week, maybe I should make it song of the month instead.

Anyway the song for today is drumroll please….

Jimmy Recard by Drapht.

Drapht, born Paul Ridge, is an Australian hip hop artist from Perth, Western Australia. Drapht is a member of the Syllaboliks crew, which comprises fellow Australian hip hop artists from Perth and is currently signed to the Obese Records record label.

He has been around for awhile, but like most Aussie hip hop, is underrated. Jimmy Recard is a song about how Drapht’s life might be different if his mother hadn’t named him Paul when he was born, if he had been given a rock star name like Jimmy Recard.

Enjoy! Let me know what you think?

Song of the Week!

I decided that since music is one of the rulers of my life, I would start to post a song of the week. I just got back from camping for four days, which I will post about later, but music played a big part in this trip. One of the highlight songs of the trip was “Little Secrets” by Passion Pit.

Passion Pit are an American electro/indie band from Cambridge, Massachusetts. They formed in 2007 and have been hitting the Triple J airways ever since. Personally, “Little Secrets” is my favourite of their songs. It’s great to dance to, makes me happy and is fun to sing along to with friends.

Anyway enough from me, let PP speak for themselves. Let me know what you think, even if you absolutely can’t stand it.
